As categorias femininas tiveram as divisões: junior, amador, pro e sênior

I’ve just got back to Cooly after one week off, in which I took part in Noosa Festival of Surfing
The event was held on the charming beach of Noosa Heads on the Sunshine Coast and once again it was a complete success.
The beach was crowded with beautiful people and sunny days full of perfect waves.
The event included divisions like longboard, shortboard, tandem, paddle, stand- up paddle, bodysurfing, finless boards, among others.
Maybe that’s the reason the comp is so special. In my opinion the most soulful surf that I’ve ever taken part in it. Actually it isn’t just a comp, but a celebration of surfing and how diverse surf culture really is, each year attracting more and more surfers from other countries.
There is an environment of complete camaraderie, the real feeling of surfing.
The most beautiful example was in the Boys’ under 15 division, where one young boy sacrificed first place just because he went to rescue his friend’s lost board in his heat. What a great example of humanity!
In my heat – the Women’s Pro division – the waves were perfect. I surfed well, leading for most of the heat, but the scores were changing all the time, so in the end the athletes who were in second and third place switched with first and second, and made me drop into third place for the finish of the heat, with no time to change scores anymore (qué qué qué).
Even though I lost in round one, I still had three more days to enjoy the perfect swell.
The Women’s divisions were: junior, amador, pro e senior.
The starlet was fifteen-year-old Hawaiian Honolua Blomfield. She surfs the junior and the pro, and won both. She also took part in the Noserider with the men, advancing one round. And how difficult it is to dispute with the classic surf experts: it’s not easy at all!
The Hawaiian girl demonstrated a lot of control in her noseriding (beautiful fives and tens) and great turns, showing that she has ability either in classic and progressive surfing. A complete surfer!
I can bet that she’s going to be the new world champion soon.
Also there was the illustrious presence of the twice world champion Jennifer Smith, and her mates from US: Karina Rozunko, Tory Gilkerson and Mele Saili.
Among the Australians, Isabel Braly, the Byron Bay’s local, which didn’t went further but deserves to be mentioned because of her beautiful and polish sufing.
She won last edition of Noosa Festival 2013.
And the spectacle continued in the main categories: Logger Pro e Noseriding Pro, the athletes made a good presentation in the traditional surfing, with the participation of some world champions like Taylor Jensen(CA), Harley Ingleby (NSW), Josh Constable (QLD) e Antoine Delpero, addition to other talents  like the local Harrison Roach (QLD), Eduard Delpero(FRA), Remi Arauzo (FRA), among others.
It’s hard to put all the names here, that they are so many.
The contest was simply impeccable, the organization, the high level of surfing and of course the swell.
Noosa Heads became my favourite point break in Australia.
Beyond the waves was a pleasure to participate again of the Festival and see so many good surfers.

I can’t wait for the next year.

Agradecintos / Thanks:
